HO HO HO ….YA GOTTA BELIEVE …..

Santa Clauss is coming to town Folks. Latest word is that if you’ve been good enough to not pay much in taxes, you’ll have a very Merry Holiday - 500 to 700 Billion Dollars worth. Figure if it’s divided among perhaps 200 Million taxpayers that should work out to about $3,000 each. Who knows? Maybe by the time the late Winter months arrive and the unemployed ranks swell enough, maybe we’ll get $5,000 or $6,000 or more. This is Wonderful! Why didn’t we think of this before?! But those mean rich people, they’ll simply get ‘Coal’. Oops, I forgot, they’re going to bankrupt the Coal companies and besides it’s very dirty and unhealthy, and we need them to stick around and pay the bills. So they’ll get nuthin’ for Christmas.

The Elves are very busy so line up everybody, banks, investment companies, auto manufacturers, troubled home owners, there’s more than enough to go around for everyone. Make sure that you spend it because there’ll be another round of merry making soon after. Enjoy it while you can because prices will start climbing soon and things will become more and more expensive. Look to buy imported merchandise because when the Dollar starts falling, if not collapse, those television sets and such won’t be the bargains that they are today. This will be such a marvel to behold - money created right out of thin air. Who needs those miserly buyers of Treasury Bonds & Notes anyway? Let the good times roll !

Seriously, there are so many things wrong with the U.S. economy that it exposes the incompetence of generations of elected officials. When things are going well it’s not so obvious, but in an immense economic downturn the ignorance is vividly obvious.

For decades now, anything that pops into a government officials head is plugged into the economy and they run out to leave us with the mess along with bills to pay. Departing President Bush included, this is a ‘Renegade Government’ that will destroy everything including itself before long. Soon will come the day when they regret the squander of limited resources as runaway price increases wipes out any short term benefit from the stimulation and plunges the nation into a new and worse chaos. Anytime after the arrival of the new stimulus package and the end of 2009, look for the start of the upward price spiral in my opinion.

There’s only one apparent sound solution to our economic woes -

Cut Corporate Income Taxes By 50%.

Offer a 25 year moratorium on Federal & State taxes for new plant manufacturing facilities to encourage overseas investment in the United States.

Drastically slash Federal and State governments along with discretionary spending to minimize budget deficits.

Unfortunately, we’re moving in the opposite direction and there’s no hope for a sound economic policy until the consequences of the politicians foolishness has run the course.

In the meantime, HO HO HO… YA GOTTA BELIEVE….HYPERINFLATION IS ON THE WAY !

I am always intrigued by anti Obama camp who try to discredit him.

Since he has been elected with overwhelming support, we should allow him to lead , govern and support him to give the best shot to get us out of this mess in America.

Well, the truth of the matter is that he has not furnished his birth certificate. How this can be is beyond me, but it is the case and has been known for some time. The fact that the US constitution does prohibit the foreign born from the executive office, would mean that Obama was never eligible for the office in the first place. I too wish him well as president if he obtained the position constitutionally. If, however, he does not have a US birth certificate he should not be allowed to take office. The oath of office is to ‘…’preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreiign and domestic…” One cannot do this if the very act of taking office is unconstitutional. If he has a US birth certificate then all the very best to him, he should produce it.

  7. Roger Says:

Jerome Corsi traveled to Kenya (worldnetdaily - wnd.com) shortly before the election to expose some issues regarding Obama. The Kenyan government responded by treating Corsi and his aide inhumanely, depriving them of food all day, insisting that they were not under arrest but that there papers had merely been “misplaced”; yet it was guards with automatic weapons who held them.

Did the Kenyans just support Obama or was there something to hide? I don’t know. What I do believe based on Obama’s words and actions of the last 4 years is that he cares more for the people of Kenya than he does the people of rural Illinois who he was elected to serve 4 years ago (I live in Illinois).

Corsi was very sick for weeks afterward and I’m not sure of his health now.

I am also very concerned about Obama’s belief that the Constitution is a “living, breathing, document” that should adapt to the times. While many people might agree in concept, that unfortunately opens the doors to a lot of bad things. Will Obama take that open door? Decide for yourself.

It is not in the Constitution for the Federal Government to do much at all, much less play Robin Hood. Obama’s comments to Joe the Plumber about “spreading the wealth around” should cause alarm to the 47% of American’s that pay more to the Federal Treasury than they receive.

Yes, 53% receive more than they pay. And Obama won by what percent of the vote?

Thanks to the fiscal malfeasance of all of Washington - both sides of the aisle - Obama has been handed the keys to the Titanic. McCain should count his blessings.

Here’s the story in Pravda - English version: http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/02-12-2008/106778-Amazing_Obama-0

    Regards,
    Roger.

(P.S. - I met Jerome Corsi and Joseph Farah a year ago and they both seem like well informed, well intentioned, stand-up type of guys who know how to properly research their work. IMHO)

  8. gsh Says:

    Peter,

Let me elaborate on this issue.

Like you, I am a Christian. I love the Lord Jesus. I am against gay marriage and abortion. Obama is not supported by many American because of racial prejudice. And for issues listed, many evangelical Christians do not support Obama.

Polittics is an imperfect game. Neither McCain/Palin nor Obama/Biden are going to be our saviours. We have only One, who is Jesus Christ. And I’m sure God is neither a Republican nor a Democrat.
I have read supposedly Christian emails and websites that was total anti Obama. I was offended by the views because they were not balanced. There were too much passion and too little substance. That’s politics. Just like some of our theological debates.

I’m all for conversation and discussion about politics, just as I’m all for conversation and discussion about theology. However, I’ve seen theological and political discussion become too dirty and un-Christian. People talking past one another. People just trying to show that they are right and everyone else is wrong. People starting to attack the character of others. It insinuate that others are a lesser Christian than you because they hold to a different theological or political stance. Instead, we should focus on the issues. And do so in a level-headed way and without inciting fear and hatred against those you disagree.

There are Christians who think that God is on one side of the political divide in America. It’s only recently that more and more younger Christians are recognizing that God is not a Republican. That doesn’t mean He’s a Democrat, either. I think He’d rather us channel our passion into preaching the gospel and loving others.
But because so many Christians still think that a Christian has to support the Republican candidate because it’s God’s will. So we have to support Bush and Palin?

One of the major reasons why Christians have traditionally voted Republican is because of the party’s anti-abortion stance. As Christians, we should no doubt be against abortion. But does that mean we automatically support the Republican candidate? I don’t think it’s an automatic choice and more and more Christians are starting to realize that.

Let me just say that Obama is pro-choice and not pro abortion. He made his pro-choice decision after taking into consideration many complex factors. Personally, he’s said he’s against abortion, and I believe that. Still, most Christians may differ from him, but that doesn’t make him a person who is happy to kill unborn children as many Christians make pro-choice candidates out to be. To portray pro-choice candidates as happy murderers without also acknowledging the complexity of the issue involved is as simplistic as thinking that voting Republican would reduce abortions or eventually result in the banning of abortion, and also as simplistic as thinking that banning abortion will solve the abortion problem. It’s as simplistic as viewing Obama or McCain as the saviour or devil incarnate.

As with most issues, this is more complex than many Christians make it out to be. All Christians ought to be united against abortion, but also against poverty and racism and many other issues.

I believe the issues of his birth was stirred up by those who did not want to see him in office. Now they are trying the back door without much clear evidence wasting the nation’s resources and diluting the focus on the key issues.

What I am convinced is that we have voted a president who is most suited for the job. We may not agree with him on all issues. We have Bush and Sarah Palin who are Christians but they will be totally unsuited for the job of President or VP. Personally, I think Bush has done a lot of harm to the economy. If Palin becomes President – it will be a total disaster as it is mostly form and little substance.

But now is the time to do what is urgent - to rally focus on issues relating to the economy. With his recent appointments of his cabinets and key officials, I believe Obama is on the right track. The last thing we want to do is to disrupt the continuity by some stupid ideologies, prejudice and silly politics. It is also happening in Canada where the liberal Dion trying to kick out Harper in a no confidence vote just 7 weeks after Harper has won quite decisively not but not enough to have a majority government!

This Is a big deal because we Christians have a really huge image problem of being judgmental and anti-this and anti-that and I think that’s way off from the image Jesus portrayed. Kinda contradicts the message of love and acceptance that the gospel is all about. I’m not saying this is a reason not to try and get it banned, but clearly whatever we do, we can do it in an infinitely wiser, more thoughtful and more compassionate way.

So looking at things from the perspective of now and the near future, I can’t see how the Republican policies can actually do a better job at reducing abortions than the Democratic policies, which are more holistic and comprehensive in nature.

Obama has won. The world is very happy and I am too. After all, I have to remember that it’s all about Jesus and His kingdom. I know Obama has a lot on his hands, but I’m confident that he will be a great President, though my hope is not in him, but Him! I don’t think I’ll be disappointed because I don’t expect the world from him. He’s still a politician after all. The world is still complex (if not more), and decisions are always going to be difficult to make - and not all will be popular. While he’s not perfect and he’s definitely no savior, I do believe that deep inside he’s someone who cares and truly wants to help people. I did believe (more or less) the same of George W. Bush (I think we should always try to give people the benefit of the doubt!), but the difference I think is that in Obama we have a more intelligent, more thoughtful and a wiser person with much better policies for America and the world.

  11. Keith, the Canadian Viking Says:

A lawyer in Pennsylvania, Philip J. Berg, filed a suit over Obama’s eligibility to be president some months ago, in the hope of clearing up this issue before the election took place. The court dismissed the case not on any evidence, but by ruling that the lawyer had no standing to bring such a case. So. . . . a U.S. citizen has no standing to ensure that the U.S. constitution is followed in his country? Something very fishy going on here, but I expect those in authority will continue to supress any attempts to get at the truth. You can check it out at http://www.obamacrimes.com

It is very disappointing that you would publish something like this without making some minimal effort to verify its accuracy. This rumor mongering only serves to stir up those who already oppose Obama, just as some of it did for Bush during the previous election. By circulating this you give it some possibility of credibility (while diminishing your own). Hardly what I would expect of a Christian man. And by the way, I am a registered Republican, Vietnam Vet, etc., etc. I simply want what’s best for our country. He’s been elected, let’s give him our full support.

To help you determine the veracity of the video, you might look at http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/l/lawyersues.htm or http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html. Let’s get past all this and move forward.

If I were Obama, and given the state of the US economy, I would have demanded a recount!

I enjoy your market and economic commentary, but prefer you limit your commentary to those areas. This video publication really makes you look bad..

Follow up to my earlier post. Philip Berg, a long-time Democrat, is interviewed in this 10 minute video (made before the election took place) about this issue.

  14. Lucy Loffe Says:

    In response to gsh,

This is not an issue of religion or race. This isn’t an issue of liking or disliking President Elect Obama. This is an issue of the principle of whether or not we are a nation of laws governed by the Constitution anymore. There is a reason that the founding fathers put the question of birth origin into the constitution. Mr. Obama may well be the best choice for office given the choices we all had. Basically there is no dispute that he was elected by a majority; and thus the majority of citizens voted for him. The question is: Is he or is he not a natural born citizen or is he foreign born? This is not an issue of the man, it is an issue of whether of not we are a nation following the rule of law in this country, which I must say these days is very much in question. If we are in fact tossing the constitution lets do it in the bright light of day so that we all are aware of what is happening, but if we are not doing that… the man should produce his birth certificate and end the discussion.

  15. Peter Grandich Says:

Larry- Your response remind me of the old saying, ” you can’t please all the people all the time.” If the Obama camp would have simply provided his birth certificate, there would be no more questions. And let me also say I don’t think Obama won as much as the vote was against George Bush. I’m in the prediction game so here’s a prediction; four years from now, America will be more messed up socially, politically and economically than at any other time in its history. Check back in four years and we’ll see if I’m right.

  16. larry Says:

You’re right, apparently you can’t please all the people all the time. Sounds like that goes for elections too.

Obama had provided the parties with a copy of his birth certificate. They just weren’t satisfied with the copy. It’s likely no document would have been adequate. See following excerpt from recent AP newswire story:

“Allegations raised on the Internet say the birth certificate, showing that Obama was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961, is a fake.

“But state officials in Hawaii say they checked health department records and have determined there’s no doubt Obama was born in Hawaii.

“The nonpartisan Web site Factcheck.org examined the original document and said it does have a raised seal and the usual evidence of a genuine document.

“In addition, Factcheck.org reproduced an announcement of Obama’s birth, including his parents’ address in Honolulu, that was published in the Honolulu Advertiser on Aug. 13, 1961. ”

And still these people are pursuing it in the courts.

But the real issue is that I thought it irresponsible for someone in your postion and obvious influence to forward along the video without making some effort to verify its accuracy, a video that obviously is attempting to undermine Obama’s election . I would hope we all support our President. There have been times when I had to swallow hard, but I did it. Videos like this simply stir people up. I thought as a man of conscience you might appreciate some feedback. However, I’ve been wrong before and with much greater frequency than I would like.

As for your prediction, I suspect you’re right, although I’m not sure it would have made much difference which candidate was elected. The country is simply having to pay the price for its excesses of the past.

Anyway, keep up the good analysis.

  17. challie Says:

With some countries backing off construction of reactors, some ur mining companies locking down, spot price of ur about to dive and bouncing off a downline from the high, can we expect the mining shares to rebound sometime in the near future (in two yrs lets say) ? The ur bubble is a real disaster, while share prices are next to or close to zero, I don’t see a bottom forming on many of the company charts.
With the construction of reactors taking five to ten yrs, the demand for uranium will be further down the road and the share prices following close behind, that amount of time is beyond my legevity. It would appear we made a mistake of a life time, unless one can wait twenty yrs. Maybe the MAYAN calendar projecting the end of life as we know it in Dec 2012 is for real !!!!!!!!!!
