Smackdown at Congressional Hearing

A refreshing breeze from a Congressman

While the “happy” crowd speaks of groth later this year and in 2010, it may be wise to remember this quote from a former Secretary-Treasurer in the 1930’s

QUOTE FROM ROOSEVELT’S BELOVED FRIEND TREASURY SECRETARY  Henry Morgenthau, Jr.  on May 9, 1939.   He was Roosevelt’s  closest friend. The quote was from the recently published book, “New Deal or Raw Deal” by Stephen Moore:

“We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I’m wrong…somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises…I say after eight eyars of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started….And an enormous debt to boot!”

Grandstanding ? Rep. Manzullo has very valid questions. A $3 Million bonus sounds like corporate robbery, but we don’t know why it was paid.

Supposing…just supposing that the person receiving this bonus is the general sales manager or V.P. Sales holding an entire division together and looking to leave. He might take people and valuable business with him widening losses or even making a division unsalvageable if he’s such a key person.

We don’t know why he was paid $3 Million, but when a company is under such daily scrutiny, there’s liley a good reason for the bonus payment. That’s my opinion, and the Congressman was grandstanding without knowing the reason for the payment. Business executives are being a Black Eye everywhere and it’s not always the case.

One thing’s for sure – EVERYTHING THAT THE GOVERNMENT TOUCHES TURNS TO DIRT.

a competent man who is not familiar with the details gets the details and responds … the question there staff and they provide answers …. if Kashkari is wasting time in kangaroo court he is incompetent … if the level of activity in which he is being questioned is below and an underling is repsonsible he pledges to get an answer …. I don’t get away with no knowing …. Kashkari shouldn’t either …. its time these strategic geniuses who can not account for billions are held accountable or step aside.
