It makes me puke to see what some people who call themselves Americans do to the true heroes of the 21st century.

911 First Responders Still Fighting City Hall

” Under LaSala’s leadership, the insurance fund has spent more than $191 million on lawyers and overhead since 2004 to fight 9,000 claims by 9/11 responders seeking compensation for illnesses blamed on toxic exposure. ”

That works out to $21,200 in legal expenses for each claimant. How could such a thing be that Congress appropriated $1 Billion for payout through an insurance fund and they fight everyone tooth & nail? The suffering rescue workers had to shell out just as much from their pockets for legal expenses.
Substantially all of the money is still there undistributed, managed by investment houses and it’s quite a tidy sum to earn investment fees. If you check her freezer, it could be filled with cash. This worm is likely getting lavish perks from the law firms that are contesting claims too on behalf of the fund.
This is what happens when a society reveres attorneys and hands responsibility to them. A panel of ‘First Responders’ should have been empowered to review and pay claims as expeditiously as possible without legal referral. How can the first responders successfully go back to Congress when the coffers are still filled?
Such a tragedy.
SG For me, this is the saddest story in my life in America. You were the only one to post. These brave men and women, mostly just average workers who were living paycheck to paycheck, have seen not only their lives ruined but those of their love ones. If I ever hit the lottery I will give some to the ministries I work with and the rest to these folks. I love them all.
