On a Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D. C., House Speaker Nancy
Pelosi’s aide visited the Cardinal of the Catholic cathedral.
He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next
day’s sermon, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out
Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include
calling Pelosi a saint.
The Cardinal replied, “No. I don’t really like the woman, and there
are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over certain of
Pelosi’s views.” Pelosi’s aide then said, “Look. I’ll write a check for $1,000,000 if
you’ll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint.”
The Cardinal thought about it and said, “Well, the church can use
the money, so I’ll work your request into tomorrow’s sermon.” As
Pelosi’s aide promised, House Speaker Pelosi appeared for the Sunday
sermon and seated herself prominently at the edge of the main aisle.
And, during the sermon, as promised, the Cardinal pointed out that
House Speaker Pelosi was present.
Then the Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation — “While
Speaker Pelosi’s presence is probably an honor to some, she is not
my favorite person. Some of her views are contrary to those of the
church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other views. Nancy
Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a
nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief.
Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever
personally witnessed.
She married for money and is using it to lie to the American
people. She also has a reputation for shirking her Representative
obligations both in Washington, and in California. She simply is not
to be trusted.”
The Cardinal completed his view of Pelosi with, “But, when compared
Harry Reid, and Ted Kennedy,
House Speaker Pelosi is a saint.”
I woke this morning to rainy cloudy skys, booming lighting all of which hit at the exact moment the cardinal exclaimed that Pelosi is a saint . One FINE moment like that, reminds me of the story about a deceased man at whose wake NO ONE had anything good to say about him, except for one fellow who rose to his feet to exclaim, “well I knew his brother, and he was WORSE” !!!, LOL
Peter I thought you might like this one
Last Tuesday, as President Obama got off the helicopter in front of the White House: he was carrying a baby piglet under each arm.
The squared away Marine guard snaps to attention, salutes, and says: “Nice pigs, Sir.”
The President replies “These are not pigs these are authentic Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for Senator Hillary Clinton and I got one for the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.”
The Marine again snaps to attention, salutes, and says, “Excellent trade, sir.”
Peter, perhaps you could share this wonderful example of faith and redemption on Easter to really make a strong point (although perhaps not the point you were intending.)
Now Norm’s joke is just plain funny!
Norm’s joke is funny, and I’ve never liked Nancy Pelosi (even though I’m supposed to be left-wing), but this a joke too, right?
What??? No attacks on Peter for his right-wing sense of humor? Nobody telling him he ought to stick to financial advice because that’s what he’s good at, and that’s what we’re “paying” him for?
Well, what a breath of fresh air.
Peter, I am getting a little sick & tired of your continuous ‘Democrat’ bashing. It is taking the fun & interest from your blog. The Republicans had the last 8 years and we know what happened to the economy and the wars. Obama & the Democrats have had 60 days……lets see where we are in 2, 3, 4 years from now.
#7 Earl Timmins … Perhaps you would feel more at home over at http://www.moveon.org. Rather crude remarks and perhaps a bit threatening that you’re getting “A Little Sick & Tired”. What are you going to do, throw up in the forum to revolt us?
Let me ask you a question – if you crashed a party uninvited, would you then complain to the host that you didn’t like the food? Very rude aren’t you ! ?
Earl – While I disagree with your assessment, I welcome airing it in my continuing hope good debates will come the norm on this blog. Look Earl, Klaus and I have learned to respect our differences, add to the conversation and have a chuckle while doing so.
Klaus Now that my friend was a center remark-lol
#8 Starquestor — this isn’t a private party, it’s a public blog, (supposedly) about Stock, Bond and Precious Metal Markets – Worldwide, Anytime.
Earl.
Can’t you let Peter be Peter? He’s willing to let Earl be Earl.
Someday you’ll all realize that the only significant difference between the two major parties is the rhetoric. They talk different, but they do the same things.
Until then, I guess Peter has the right (on HIS blog for cryin’ out loud) to do just about what he wants. And if you don’t like it, I’ll bet he’ll give you your money back.
dan I will give triple back-lol
