I Nominate

Posted by Peter Grandich at 2:57 PM on Monday, August 31st, 2009

this man for Chairman, CEO, President and all positions in the “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” crowd.

It would merely be a laugh if not for how seriously insane his comments were. The good news for him is he fits right in at Wall & Broad!

Michael Campbell’s “Money Talk’s has superb article on “Gold $5,000″.

New Additions to Model Portfolio

Posted by Peter Grandich at 10:29 AM on Monday, August 31st, 2009

Because my technical work has now turned very bullish on gold and silver, and I remain constructive on most base metals, I’m going to add several resource stocks to my model portfolio. All of the new recommendations also have a “Takeover” target flavor.

The new recommendations are:

Andina Minerals (ADM-TSX –V $1.43)
Claude Resources (CGR-Alnet $.56)
Hathor Exploration (HAT-TSX-V $1.35)  Looking more at uranium plays now
Midway Gold (MDW-Alnet $.64)
Yamana Gold (YRI-TSX $10.12)

Say No To Treasury Bonds

Posted by Peter Grandich at 7:31 AM on Monday, August 31st, 2009

I couldn’t agree more with the gentleman quoted in this article.

Please allow me again to urge you to read this article. It not only concurs fully with my views but is extremely well-written and should be read by everyone.

I think it’s time now for just about all types of investors from speculators to highly conservative investors to at a minimum, have no real size capital in U.S. Treasuries with any maturies longer than two years. More aggressive speculators are strongly suggested to consider going short the longer end of the Treasury market via PST-NYSE (Buy up to $55) and TBT-NYSE (Buy up to $50).

Quick Update

Posted by Peter Grandich at 12:51 PM on Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Tonight is my biggest “politically correct” sports evening. So-called bragging rights (just for the evening) between NY Giants and NY Jets fans are at stake at the annual preseason “NY Bowl” (Ironically game is played in New Jersey). With friends on both teams I will walk a very fine line. But if it comes down to one play, here’s who I’m pulling for:

He’s wearing Green and White now (I’ll be in neutral colors).

With a big three-day holiday weekend upcoming in North America, I wouldn’t get too caught up in market moves until Tuesday September 8th.

I am very bullish on gold now. It’s seasonally weakest period is all but behind us and we’ll shortly be in it’s strongest period. The technical outlook is very bullish now.
