Had a great time this evening with three of the young stars of the New York Jets (Chansi Stuckey, James Ihedigbo and Dustin Keller) at an event in Madison Square Garden for boxing great “Smoking” Joe Frazier.

I’ve been blessed to be around members of the Jets teams these last few years and they weren’t half as pumped and excited as the team is now. They all believe quarterback Sanchez is the real deal. As a forty year Jets fan I don’t want to “Jinx” things but this could be the year.

Joe Frazier was a pure pleasure to be around. He told great stories and it was an honor to hear up close and personal recollections of his days with Ali. I came away realizing how much boxing has really fallen since the great days of Frazier, Ali, Foreman and Holmes.

Outstanding Peter. Go Jets, and you are right about boxing today. It has lost its flair. Smoking Joe,Ali,and our favorite Gerry Cooney have watched it slip away. And Sanchez is good, real good. Love his calm, how he handles presure both on and off the field. And I expect a 12 win season.

May I suggest on NETFLIX Watch 2008 documentary “Thrilla in Manila.” the third and final fight. It was so good that my 15 year old son whom I sat and watched it with, went to the library and took out a book about the era. A must see for the under and over 50 year olds.

Peter – As Joe’s business manager, I’d like to thank you for attending last night. It was a great event and wouldn’t have been as successful if it wasn’t for everyone that enjoyed the night with us.

We definitely recommend watching “Thrilla in Manila” for all ages!

Lots of arrogant yapping from the young Jets after 2 games, let’s see if they can back it up.

Dream on, Peter! I’ll bet you dinner in the best steakhouse in NY that the Pats whip these vainglorious, braggart upstarts when they play in Foxboro. As for Sanchez, he managed all of 16 points, at home, against a wounded Pat defense. Yeah, greatness personified! Again, dream on.

That’s some good memories back in the 70’s with Frazier and Ali. I do not think we will ever witness fights like those in our lifetime. As far as the Giants and Jets go it would be nice to have 2 winning football teams in our local area. (Super Bowl could be stretching it)
