Open Letter To Business News Network

Posted by Peter Grandich at 10:44 AM on Monday, November 9th, 2009

As one of the world’s premier financial networks who has clearly proven to be truly fair and balanced, I respectfully request you provide air time for me to debate Jon Nadler of Kitco regarding his claims made in this interview http://watch.bnn.ca/#clip232431 I believe the public comments made here and by Mr. Nadler for the last several years have been distorted, misleading and most importantly, have been proven wrong again and again and again.

The only two ground rules I request are:

  • BNN makes available past interviews of both of us on the air and our ability to show some of them and their results.
  • The moderator be either Kim Parlee or Howard Green.

I await your response.

o what fun that would be to watch.

  2. Randy says:

That would be a worthwhile debate; I hope it happens.

  3. Ed says:

That a boy Petey! Somebody needed to challenge the biggest mouth of misinformation in the business. But don’t hold your breadth waiting for Nadler to agree. He has ducked Bill Murphy, GATA and anyone who tried to publicly debate him. He hides behind Kitco and the rumor is he’s now manipulating what news Kitco puts out in order to support his foolish argument. Kitco allows him to be so bearish so if and when gold finally falls, they can say their analyst said so. Does Bart really think he’s going to get away with that excuse?

Petey will eat Nadler’s lunch especially when he shows videotape of Nadler’s numerous blunders and his own accurate forecasts.

  4. Barry K says:

Jon sounds like a politician. Hard to nail down with an answer that makes sense. I still hope the debate happens and shows the man knows nothing.

  5. Cary S says:

I actually listened to this guy for about a year and held of buying gold or any gold stocks based on his “advice”. If I didnt find Mr. Grandich I would be sitting on my hands now with regards to gold and gold stocks. I doubt he will debate you Mr. Grandich. People who are usually blatantly wrong would not go out of their way to embarass themselves.

  6. Klaus Willmann says:

    I’d pay to watch this….

I do not claim to be an expert in mine production or scrap gold, but both charts Nadler posted could not be interpreted as anything but bullish. I couldn’t believe he could look at those charts and claim gold was not in a bull market. Absolutely amazing!

  7. Army says:

This would be the mother of all debates I’d not want to miss, but I doubt **Nadler the coward** will accept Peter invitation

  8. Dean McDonald says:

Dear Peter: It would probably feel really good for you to have this. But we all know that you are the best and one thing I really admire about you is your humility. Let God deal with the consequences of other peoples action against you.

  9. Sid says:

I have forwarded to Mr. Grandich numerous word for word quotes of Nadler’s going back several years from interviews and his own commentaries. I can assure you with these facts Mr. Grandich will make Nadler to be the fool he really is.

  10. Len says:

I too forwarded to Mr. Grandich literally dozens of public quotes from Nadler. All Mr. Grandich has to do is to read them verbatim and the audience will see and hear exactly how wrong Nadler has been. It will show how he now contradicts past claims and when they show how accurate Mr. Grandich has been in the meantime, the Toronto Humane Society will be called to the set of BNN to put Nadler out of his misery.

I don;t think it was just a request when Mr. Grandich asked that past comments be made public. Nadler gets away with his horrific track record to some simply because they don’t know how wrong he has been. Mr. Grandich will surely take care of that.

  11. Stan Adams says:

Peter, I cannot understand what you hope to achieve. I for one love the detractors and those who haven’t even noticed gold. Are you trying to destroy the “wall of worry” singlehandedly? Let Nadler have his day and let’s relax in the confines of quiet money making. The animosity he feels for you will never allow his pride to agree with your position. Do you feel a need to demolish this man even though you have nothing or little to gain?

  12. Niccc says:

The worldly response is to prove ourselves to be right and feel good for a moment, the godly response would be to pray for Jon Nadler to gain wisdom. Instead of feeling good for a moment by proving him right on TV, I can gaurantee you Peter that the feel good moment will be longer lasting and satisfying if you just pray for him.

  13. Ray says:

Stan and Niccc This challenge of Peter’s has little to do with proving anything or spiritually. What Peter is doing is rising up to falsehoods and seeking a way to broadly disprove what was said by somebody who has not only been wrong and cost people a lot of money, but who is clearly evil in his ways. I for one pray for Peter’s success in such a debate but like others believe Nadler won’t stand up and be counted.

  14. Jair says:

I think there’s no doubt Nadler would win…. the ire of anyone who sees such a debate. To constantly be wrong and not learn and try to cover up / ignore the past is close to inexcusable particularly in the ‘expert’ field. There comes a time to set the record straight especially after the email Nadler sent Peter.
But as much as I want to say “let’s get ready to rumbllllllllllllle” and the truth will be told, Dean McDonald and Niccc pull my head back in the car a bit… tough choice but Peter probably already knows Nadler will be a no show but BNN will either not have Nadler on again or maybe show him some of his past clips. I think Nadler’s avenues for waffle propagation will be narrowed from now.

  15. Will says:

    Uh oh!…. ;)

  16. phil says:

    celebrity/analyst death match =)

  17. George says:

Good luck with that because Nadler will never be sucket into a debate that he knows he has as much of a chance to win as a snowball in hell.

I saw this interview live on BNN and couldn’t believe the usual garbage coming out of Jon’s mouth especially the one about gold not being in a bull market. I guess he can’t read charts either.
Jon has an agenda and he’s using the press for free airtime to try and talk down the gold price.
I immediately emailed BNN and requested that they not have Jon on anymore because he just speaks lies and doesn’t serve any useful purpose to BNN viewers.
I don’t suppose BNN will take me seriously, but perhaps if many of us contact BNN with the same request we will hear less of Jon’s garbage.
My feeling is that Kitco doesn’t have enough gold to cover their accounts (Ponzi scheme?)?????

  18. Alan says:

After reading of Peter’s challenge to the oily Mr. Nadler, and Nadler’s cowardly response, I felt compelled to send the president of Kitco the following message:

    Dear Mr. Kitner,

I hold no particular torch for Peter Grandich, but purely as a bit of friendly advice, I would suggest that you take the long-overdue action of divesting yourself of Jon Nadler as your company’s official spokesman, before his increasing lack of credibility makes him a complete laughingstock, and brings ruin to your business. I wonder if you realize how much of a black eye your employment of this misinformation-peddling, dishonest, patently anti-gold shill for Wall Street and the banking oligarchs has already given Kitco, and how much his constant and ceaseless badmouthing of gold and “Radical Gold Bug Extremists” has already damaged your reputation within the precious metals industry and community. I have many, many times talked to others who categorically refuse to do business with Kitco solely based on your employment of Mr. Nadler. If you feel that his never-ending poor mouthing of gold is an asset to your business, you may want to reconsider.

I am no CEO, nor have an MBA, but it seems rather intuitive and obvious to me that one of the first rules of business would be, do NOT insult the customers! Or talk down your stock-in-trade at every opportunity. Or peddle half-truths, misleading threats and lies. But what do I know — I am not a “Senior Gold Analyst”.

    Sincerely,

    (Me)

  19. Chad says:

Way to go!!! Nadler is sooooo biased he puts Kudlow to shame. I’m sure he’s smart enought not to debate you. He must know he can’t win when he probably knows his points are flawed.
