Sunday Thought

Posted by Peter Grandich at 7:04 AM on Sunday, November 8th, 2009

There are three stages in life:

  • You’re entering the forest
  • You’re in the forest
  • You’re out of the forest

There are only two types of people:

  • Those who are a mess and know it and those who are a mess but don’t know it.

Only through God’s Grace do we learn what a mess we all are and to get through our trips into and out of the forest.

I love this song!

I’ve been blessed to meet a very small percentage of people who have clearly been chosen by Almighty God to be a voice in the wilderness. One of God’s warriors is former New York Giants Running Back Keith Elias. I want to encourage you to learn about Keith and to consider him as a motivational speaker. Please visit his website.

Thank you Peter for the tremendous courage you show not only in your willingness to speak out about the investment world and your mistakes, but the sinful nature you, me and all the readers possess. May God continue to bless your work.

  2. Roger says:

Legislation with massive ramifications passes with only a 50.5% majority.

    Anyone else bothered by that?

    Roger.

  3. EVELYN says:

PETER, PRAYER PAVED A PATH IN YOUR DARKEST HOUR. FAITH HAS GIVEN YOU THE COURAGE TO STAND BOLDLY IN THE LIGHT. YOU ARE BLESSED.

  4. Bill K says:

    Roger,

Slight majorities ARE the new normal in politics and social opinion. About the only thing politicians will support in great numbers is voting themselves a pay raise. Your president hasn’t been chosen with much of a majority in some time, in fact, I think Bush snuck in with less than half the popular vote on one occasion – did THAT bother you? Obama only got a few percentage points above the 50% mark.

It’s the same here in Canada – many major issues split the populace right down the middle – doesn’t seem to matter if it’s federal politics or at the municipal level.

The comforting thing to know is that life goes on and the sun will come up again tomorrow – even if you are going to be plagued with health care for all!

    Smile,
    Bill

I received this today from a friend and found it to be very appropriate for the upcoming CHRISTMAS season! (Author unknown)

    Twas the month before Christmas

    When all through our land,

    Not a Christian was praying

    Nor taking a stand.

See the PC Police had taken away,

The reason for Christmas – no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing

About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say

December 25th is just a ‘Holiday’.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod

Something was changing, something quite odd!

    Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down

At Lowe’s the word Christmas – was no where to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears

You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.

    Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, Not Happy Holiday!

Please, all Christians join together and

Wish everyone you meet during the Holidays a MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christ is The Reason for the Christmas Season!

    Great song!
Saturday I had the privilege of meeting Peter Grandich at the Montreal Investment Show and attending one of his speeches. Afterwards, he invited those who wished to talk with him to the cafeteria where we sat around a table and asked questions, discussed and listened.
Peter is a kind man – he is friendly, gentle, sympathetic and gracious. Please continue being who you are!!

  11. David says:

    Hello Peter,

There are actually three, not two kinds of people. The third kind know they are a mess and are doing somehting tangible about it. And, if they are fortunate enough to know how to do it, they can become much less of a mess as time moves on.

    Thank you,

    David

  12. Donna says:
